Summary

40 evidence entries spanning from 1667 to 1984. Total of 34 linked source documents.

1667

Acquisition of Great House Farm from the Herberts

E001

The Williams family acquired Great House Farm, Llandough, in 1667 from the Herberts. This places the family one degree of separation from the Crown and establishes them as the rightful holders of the Lordship of the Manor of Llandough. The family held legitimate title to the farmhouse and land, not mere permission. The proper Latin phrase for the land claim was 'Older than man can remember'. The family's land claim to this day remains superior.

1897

Marconi Wireless Telegraphy Experiments at Great House Farm

E002

Guglielmo Marconi stayed at Great House Farm while conducting wireless telegraphy experiments in 1897. The site is the birthplace of radio wireless experiments. Despite this historical significance, Llandough does not recognise the site as the birthplace of radio. Cardiff City Council has reportedly declined to install a plaque on the radio statue in Cardiff Bay on the basis of Marconi's political views. The local councillor and parish have dismissed this aspect of the site's history.

1916

Forced Tenancy: Bute Estate Imposes Yearly Agricultural Tenancy

E003

The Bute Estate forced a 'yearly agricultural tenancy' upon John Williams. This tenancy was a legal trap. John Williams, asserting customary tenure, was forced into a contract to justify estate control over land he effectively held by superior right. The tenancy exists only in BP court records; original documentation is suspiciously absent. The 1916 tenancy falls in the dead centre of the critical 1895-1938 documentary gap in the Bute Estate Records.

1938

Reversion Sale of Great House Farm to Western Ground Rents

E004

The 1938 reversion sale to Western Ground Rents (Mountjoy interests) is documented in the National Archives (GB 0214 DA). Western Ground Rents acquired Mountjoy Ltd leasehold interests for £5 million. This transaction is not reflected in the Bute Estate's own archives at NLW, indicating a gap in the record-keeping. The nature of the interest transferred remains unclear without the missing deed documents.

1974

Identity Fraud: BP Licence Letters Addressed to 'Mrs Buckler'

E005

BP sends unilateral 'Licence to Occupy' letters to residents of Great House Farm. The letters were addressed to 'Mrs Buckler'. However, my grandmother was Mary Williams. She never adopted the Buckler name; her birth, death, and official records confirm this. The Williams name carried the land claim rights; the fabricated 'Mrs Buckler' name was designed to extinguish her title claim. Prior to 1974, neither Western Ground Rents nor any court referred to her as Mrs Buckler. She also would have participated in identity fraud had she responded as Mrs Buckler. She did contest all of it, stating in a suppressed 1978 newspaper article, as Mrs Williams, our position on all of this. Along with a 1,700 signature petition against BP's attempt to dispossess us. The court's use of dismissive language regarding her claim — describing it as 'imagined' — and the suppression of press coverage further undermine the integrity of the process.

1978

Suppressed Newspaper Article and 1,700 Signature Petition

E006

A newspaper article from 1978 documents Mary Williams, as Mrs Williams, contesting the BP licence and asserting the family's land claim. It reported the 1,700 signature petition from the community opposing BP's attempt to dispossess the family and build houses on the land. This article was subsequently suppressed and buried. The family continues to assert the title was never lawfully extinguished, only obscured by successive layers of state-backed lawfare and document theft.

1979

Roman Villa Discovery and Destruction (1979)

E038

Emergency excavations by GGAT in April-May 1979 uncovered a Roman villa at Great House Farm (NPRN 400051). The villa had a hypocaust system, sunken cold plunge bath, painted plaster walls, and tessellated mosaic flooring. It dated from the 2nd-4th century AD. A skeleton of a Romano-British family was found. Despite a last-minute bid to save it, the site was destroyed for housing development of flats named Corinthian Close and Tuscan Close.

1980

Hansard: Ted Rowlands MP Condemns BP Pension Fund (22 May 1980)

E036

Edward 'Ted' Rowlands MP spoke in the House of Commons debate on the Leasehold Reform Act amendments, describing Western Ground Rents and the BP Pension Fund as 'rapacious' and 'unfeeling.' Key quote: 'the most rapacious ground landlord, Western Ground Rents, has been bought by the BP pension fund, which is behaving in the same rapacious and, at times, unfeeling and uncaring way... It is regrettable that a distinguished company, which is half owned by the Government, should behave in that way.'

1982

Land Registration by BP Properties Ltd — Circular Logic

E007

BP Properties Ltd registered the property at HM Land Registry in November 1982. The Land Registry has since justified the 1982 registration using the 1987 judgment — effectively putting the 'cart before the horse' to validate a fraudulent claim. They turned our enquiry into a complaint, only to dismiss the complaint on insufficient grounds, using the official narrative to rebut our dispute of that same official narrative.

1984

State-Sanctioned Erasure: Title Deeds Removed from Cardiff Library

E008

The 'Deed of Transfer between Daniel Thomas and Bute Estate' and other Williams family deeds were removed from Cardiff Library in 1984. This removed the primary evidentiary pillar of the family's claim. The copy of the title deeds from the public library went missing, which handicapped my grandmother's ability to prove her claim in court. The DRA collection at Glamorgan RO contains Thomas assignments (DRA 418-420, 1906-1907) and Williams family deeds (DRA 5/31), but the crucial Cardiff Library deed copies are missing from that institution.

Missing Deed of Transfer — Cardiff Library (1984)

E040

The 'Deed of Transfer between Daniel Thomas and Bute Estate,' along with the index card, was held at Cardiff Library's local history section. In 1984 — three years before the Court of Appeal case and four years before demolition — these documents went missing. The deed documented the equitable title arrangement that established the Williams family's claim to Great House Farm. The timing of the disappearance is notable as it prevented the family from producing crucial evidence in the 1985-1987 proceedings.

1987

Court of Appeal Judgment — BP Properties Ltd v Buckler [1987] EWCA Civ 2

E009

The 1987 Court of Appeal judgment granted BP possession based on the 1974 licence. However, there was a judicial conflict: the same judge sat on the appeal panel and used contradictory logic regarding whether BP Properties and BP Pensions were the 'same company.' He said my grandmother's challenge to BP Pensions Trust didn't count, as BP Properties were the claimant — they were different companies. Yet he dismissed my late father's appeal, citing both companies were effectively the same. This is evident 'heads BP win, tails our family lose.' The judgment rests entirely on identity fraud, with the fabricated 'Mrs Buckler' identity being central to the ruling.

1988

HER Record GGAT02038s — Great House Farm Officially Documented

E010

The Glamorgan-Gwent Historic Environment Record (PRN 02038s) independently documents that Great House Farmhouse and barn 'were suddenly and completely demolished by B.P. Properties Ltd. on 6th December 1988 amid considerable local controversy.' The record confirms the site had medieval origins, with C12th-C14th pottery sherds found immediately NE of the house, and medieval ironwork ('armour') found under the floor c.1880 now held at the National Museum of Wales. The house was classified as a sub-medieval house of direct-entry type with affinities to Brynwell, a medieval farmhouse in Leckwith. The freehold was acquired by the Bute Estate in the early C19th; previously it was the chief freehold farm occupied by the Vaughan family (minor gentry) from mid C16th to late C18th. The record was compiled 21 August 1991 and last updated 13 October 2023. Source: Heneb HER (formerly GGAT) via Archwilio.

1994

GGAT HER Assessment — 'Incompletely Understood' Building

E037

The Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust's Historic Environment Record assessment (PRN 00768s) notes that Great House Farm was 'incompletely understood' due to its 'sudden destruction' in 1988. Following the demolition, GGAT entered discussions with Debenham Tewson (agents for BP Properties Ltd) about archaeological implications. The building was demolished before any proper archaeological recording could take place.

Archwilio HER — Early Christian Cemetery GGAT02272s

E039

The Archwilio HER record for the Early Christian Cemetery at Great House Farm (GGAT02272s) documents 105 sherds of Roman pottery from stratified contexts, a 1st-century AD Colchester-derivative brooch found in a burial, hobnails evidencing Roman burial traditions, Roman coins of AD 330-350 in multiple graves, and imported Bii amphorae (AD 475-550). The report states: 'The possibility of the post-Roman cemetery having Roman origins cannot easily be dismissed.'

What UK Courts Will Reject

The language of "legal fiction," "identity fraud," and refusing to engage with a name that "isn't hers" sits within the freeman-on-the-land / strawman territory that UK courts have consistently dismissed as pseudo-legal nonsense. Judges have held repeatedly that a person's legal name is not a separate corporate entity, and that arguing otherwise is an abuse of process.
